The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

I saw Twilight: New Moon the other day and I was underwhelmed. I thought it was very childish and couldn't see how anybody with maturity beyond that of a teenager would relate to the movie.

Oscar Review

The highlight of the Oscars was Monique winning the Oscar for best supporting role for her performance in "Precious". That sparked a debate about the type of roles that African Americans win Oscars for. Personally I think the performance is all that matters and I think Monique put a lot of heart into her performance in "Precious". Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in "The blind side" which was a fantastic movie. The other major story of the night was "Hurt Locker" kicking "Avatar" butt over and over again all night. "Avatar" might have won the box office but "Hurt Locker" simply stole the show at the Oscars.

The princess and the frog tops the box office

"The Princess and the Frog," which features the first African-American animated Disney heroine, tops this weekends box office, grossing with $25 million. The movie set in the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans tells the tale of a young African American girl, Tiana and a prince, Naveen transformed into a frog. The success of the "The princess and the frog" shows that 2-D animated format can still be successful.

The inspiring football tale "The Blind Side," slipped to second-place with $15.5 million made this week. "The Blind Side" chronicles the real-life story of Baltimore Ravens rookie lineman Michael Oher. I saw the Blind Side last week with little expectation but I was really impressed by the movie.

At third place with $9 million, Clint Eastwood's directed movie "Invictus" starring actor Morgan Freeman playing Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon. The movie gives an account of how Mandela challenged the South African rugby team to win the 1995 World Cup to unite post apartheid south Africa. I was disappointed with the performance of the movie at the box office but Clint Eastwood's movies have been good and I cant wait to see this one.

2. "The Blind Side," $15.5 million.

5. "Disney's a Christmas Carol," $6.9 million.

6. "Brothers," $5 million.
